King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands have embraced the ultimate royal renovation project: transforming the 17th-century Huis ten Bosch palace into a modern marvel. What began as a €35 million endeavor ballooned to €63 million, resulting in a palace that blends baroque grandeur with contemporary flair. The renovation boasts 1,239 electrical outlets, 290 square meters of glass, 65 tons of lead, and 22 kilometers of electrical wiring, ensuring the palace is as connected as it is opulent. Notable features include the "DNA Salon," where the royal couple's genetic code is artistically displayed, and the "Blue Salon," adorned with paintings reflecting their personal mementos. King Willem-Alexander, a licensed pilot, further elevates the family's lifestyle by piloting their new Boeing 737-700, facilitating spontaneous trips to their summer residence in Porto Heli, Greece. This royal renovation exemplifies a blend of tradition, technology, and personal passion.
